Wireless Mode

The Inertia Wheels have a built-in transmitter capable of a range of transmission methods.

[i] For more general information on wireless, visit the Wireless Overview.

Fast

The default method is called Fast. In Fast mode the wireless packets last about 9ms in length and 100 packets are sent per second. This performance is ultra-low latency with many packets coming through rapidly. For the fastest, most responsive operating, use Fast mode.

Range

An additional mode called Range can be helpful in challenging wireless situations. In Range mode, the wireless packets are slowed down to 18ms and 50 packets can be sent per second.

The extra time it takes for the packets to transmit increases the overall probability that the receiver will successfully understand the packet. This effectively increases the range and the interference rejection of the system.

This does increase the latency of the system, however it is generally not noticeable.
